Great Pillow

My Hullo pillow was recommended to me by a physical therapist that I’d been seeing for neck issues.  While I still have some ongoing issues with my neck, my pillow has helped a lot.  I like to sleep on my side, so find it very comfortable and the fit is right.  I did have to take some of the hulls out as it was too full, but that’s simple to do and it made it a much better size/fit for me.  Great pillow, but you should know, that it’s heavy!  The material is well made and appears to be of a very high quality.  I definitely recommend it.

Excellent Head Support

I’m an extreme slide-sleeper. I only sleep on my back by accident. Hullo took 2-3 weeks to get used to – mainly it was a bit hard on my ear at the beginning but after a few weeks, no more. Clearly the human body is pretty adaptive (although I can’t train myself to sleep on my back). Hullo clearly supports my neck and my head, and is stable enough to keep my shoulder from digging in to the mattress & neck and cause day-long pain. Without Hullo, my shoulder would ALWAYS end up hurting by the morning as it took the brunt of my head’s weight and more. I figure this is because most pillows compress into hard as a rock over night – Buckwheat does not.

The trick is to have a thin bit of Hullo rest between my head and my shoulder, and bam, the pressure is off my shoulder and I feel no pain by the end of the night. My head doesn’t slowly sink. It stays where it needs to. Some buckwheat hulls may migrate elsewhere, but a quick “fluff” puts them back. As a side sleeper, it could use a bit more hulls than what is shipped by default but usually it’s enough. I tried to remove some hulls and that did not work for me. Guess I’m a hard core side sleeper. Anyway, this is so far the best pillow I’ve used and I’ve been through far too many.

This seems like it may be the last type of pillow to try; I’m very happy with it and it’s typically quite comfortable. Off-nights are to be expected, but more often than not, Hullo keeps my neck and shoulder from hurting! Yay!

Finally I Can Sleep

This deserves more than five stars!

I tried almost all top reviewed pillows: memory foam, silicone mesh and even feather pillows! Finally I can sleep deeply and wake up with no headache nor neck pain. My roommate had the same issue until I referred him to Hullo!

Imagine a Pillow Molded Perfectly to Your Head

I like many tried a bunch of memory foam pillows only to wake up with neck pain and a headache almost every day. This pillow saved my sleep. It seems a little weird at first but when you feel yourself able to fully relax your muscles knowing the pillow will hold your head and neck in place you will know you made the right choice.

Cured My Neck Pain

I’d been sleeping on a worn-out cotton pillow, the same kind I grew up with and had slept on my whole life. Love My Hullo

I have had my pillow for about 2 months now. The first few days it was definitely a strange experience and took some getting used to since I’ve never slept on a buckwheat pillow before. I bought this because I kept waking up with my neck killing me. After about 2 months of use I can say that my neck pain is mostly gone. I really needed a firm pillow and this one works great for me! A Very Cool Pillow – Literally

I bought a Standard-size Hullo for my husband, who has always struggled with neck/nerve pain after waking up. After using the pillow, his neck issues disappeared almost right away–he says it’s because he can mold the pillow to be whatever shape he wants and it stays put.

He runs hot and loves how cool it is to sleep on. He’s a heavy sleeper so he doesn’t mind the noise the hulls make. But I’m a very light sleeper and I don’t mind the hull noise either–I was shocked!

I bought hulls from Hullo to make my own pillow and even though I’m good at sewing, the Hullo pillow was much better quality (especially for not letting those tiny hulls escape!). When these hulls wear out, I’m buying myself a Hullo. It’s been about a year and the hulls in my husband’s pillow have started to wear down.  I offered to get him some more but he said no–the pillow is still perfect for him.

Love My Hullo

Best Decision

I have had neck pain with sleeping/pillows for years. I’ve tried such a range of pillow and price and it made no difference. I can’t remember how I stumbled across Hullo, but at my wit’s end and seeing as it’s a local company I took my chance and I’m so glad I did! I’ve had it a few months now and I’ve had ZERO neck pain. It’s very different from any other pillow I’ve had but I don’t think I could ever have anything different now.

Pillow Game-Changer!

This is by far the best pillow you will ever buy and is worth every penny! I purchased one for my husband who was waking up with neck problems on a daily basis. When he was away, I tried his pillow and loved it so much I never gave it back to him. lol. I ended up having to buy a second Hullo pillow so we wouldn’t have to fight over the one. Definitely Weird, but Pleasantly Surprised

One night I fell asleep with a headache and a bit of a fever. About three hours into my sleep, I woke up with nightmarish pain and both my head and my expensive memory foam pillow (with Cooling Technology! ™) were practically on fire. After spending an hour trying to get comfortable, I ended up spending the rest of the night looking up pillows.

I just wanted one that keeps cool and supports my head. That’s it. That was also apparently an impossible request, until I saw a customer review on a memory foam pillow recommend Hullo Buckwheat pillows. I was desperate, so I read some reviews and caved.

The reviews you see online are correct. These pillows ARE weird. The buckwheat husks are not like beans, they are tiny jagged nuggets that I convinced my 5 year old daughter are spiders. They come in a pillow shaped sack that requires a pillow case unless you prefer to sleep on burlap. Looking at it, you would never expect it to be as wonderful as it is.

Just to be clear, I do not lay on this pillow and say “awwww”. Actually, I don’t really notice it at all… and that is what I love about it! I don’t wake up in the middle of the night with a hot head and strained neck. I don’t even think about my pillow anymore! And that is the best experience money can buy.

Worth the Investment

I appreciate the adjustability of this pillow. If you want it high or low, simply shape it and it stays the way you want it. I have neck problems that are pronounced when laying down and it helps me get through the night in comfort. It’s the only one I’ve found that helps.

Grateful

I have used this pillow for about 8 weeks. This pillow keeps it shape, wheather lying on my back or side. I have been trying pillows for the past 20 years or so – feather pillows, foam pillows, Tempur-Pedic pillows, neck tubes, towels rolled behind my neck, and even a My Pillow pillow. We sleep on the Tempur-Pedic mattress, a very supportive mattress, yet still had head/neck issues upon waking.

It did take about a month to get acclimated to the buckwheat hulls in the pillow, at first it felt very hard. Then, after taking out and returning different amounts of buckwheat hulls from and back into the pillow cover, I have reached “my comfort level”. I’d say this pillow has eased about 90% of my discomfort, better than all the other pillows.

A recommendation from Dr. Josh Axe online guided me to try a buckwheat filled pillow. Hullo Pillow company had the best offer and return guarantee I wanted. I am very grateful for this pillow. Give it the 60-day trial, possibly also playing around with the amount of buckwheat hulls to fit your comfort level.

I Love It

I ordered my pillow on a Friday it was shipped out the same day! Got it very quickly. Have had my pillow for four nights now and I love it. Very different from any other pillow I’ve tried but, that’s the point. Have had great sleep and no kinked neck when I wake up. Seems as if the pillow actually prevents that.

Best Sleep Ever

Had heard John Gruber’s recommendation/ad on his Podcast, ‘The Talk Show’, for months and my wife and I finally decided to take the plunge, as we really needed some new pillows. After a few nights of adjustment, we both have been sleeping better than we have in years. I have not been waking up at night, my wife says I am snoring less and neither of us are waking up with neck pain and we feel refreshed in the morning.

Not sure what it is, but this is honestly the best sleep decision we have ever made. Would highly recommend you try these pillows out, well worth the cost.

Skeptical… At First

I’m Not Kidding: This Pillow Changed My Life

I was on the fence about buying this pillow for a long time; it’s somewhat expensive (although justifiably so), and would it *really* make that big a difference? But the money-back guarantee convinced me to give it a try.

Wow. So worth it.

Love This Pillow

I have tried so many pillows and this, by far, is my favorite. It creates no heat and has helped my neck – I no longer wake up with pain. I purchased one for my mom and she loves hers as well. I would suggest a larger pillow case for it – so the hulls do not bunch up creating a harder feel. I definitely recommend. It may take a day or 2 to get used to but it definitely is worth it!

My Second Pillow and I Still Love

I received a pillow years ago and wore the sucker out. It was the same price for the amount of hullls needed or a new pillow. New pillow it was! It wasn’t as firm as I would’ve liked and the awesome customer service helped me with it.

Comfort and Substance

I have other buckwheat hull pillows (because I’ve had neck trouble for decades), but this one is the best made and definitely the most versatile: good for back support if sitting up in bed, wonderful for sleeping in any posture, and nice to lay an arm across while reading in bed. I sometimes have to adjust the hulls for proper support as I change sleep positions, but it only takes a second.

I would recommend this for anyone with cervical issues like mine. The nice even temperature is a big plus too.

Finally!

I found Hullo after doing research on how to become a back sleeper, since my other pillows were giving me pillow-face (face wrinkles from side sleeping) and neck aches. I ordered one and while the hulls are a little noisy at first, it really is THE BEST pillow for me. So happy I found Hullo!
