I had been racked w/ neck and back pain for over a year. Much of my pain was due to bad work space ergonomics, but also I came to realize that my sleeping arrangement was also a problem. After reading/ researching all of the side-sleep pillows I settled on the Hullo, as I cannot abide by foam pillows so Hullo was a natural choice (pun intended). After less than a month my neck pain had completely disappeared. Literally overnight. I cannot recommend the pillow enough. I took out about 20% of the hulls, only so our pillow cases could accommodate. I made a cat bed out of the excess. I think they’re sleeping better as well!

I’ve had my hullo pillow for almost three months now. After reading so many rave reviews I had high expectations but I can’t say it resolved my neck pain and tightness and it’s not the most comfy pillow I’ve ever had but then that’s perhaps not what one should expect from a buckwheat pillow. But it didn’t make my neck pain worse either and while it feels rather hard, overall I still sleep better on it than on a regular, small or a memory foam pillow made especially to support the neck. I like the size of the pillow but find the filling quite voluminous and will experiment next with removing some of the buckwheat content to see if that makes it feel better. I thought about returning it and think it’s great that the company offers that option but I’ve decided to keep it.

I waited too long before I tried the pillow, so I’m too late to request a refund. My bad. I tried it every night for 3 weeks. During that time I did adjust the buckwheat content level a few times trying to achieve a better outcome. But, I developed some neck and shoulder pain. I had to stop using the pillow and my neck and shoulder pain have lessened. Just not for me.

I am so happy with this purchase that I brought one for a gift for my son! I have enjoyed this pillow since the first night; it really does stay cool. Having a pillow that is nice and firm is wonderful. Just like the description says, you put your head on it and it forms to your head and neck. I started shopping for a new pillow because I was waking up almost every morning with a headache, since getting the Hullo the headaches have almost disappeared. It is well worth the extra money to have a great purchase. My son is also enjoying his and no longer has to flip to the cool side.

I love, love, love my Hullo pillow that I have been sleeping on for two months. My cranial bones located in my occipital area have been tender for many years. This pillow cradles my head perfectly. One might think that the hard buckwheat hulls would be uncomfortable however it’s quite the opposite. At first the pillows seemed a bit full for my liking but, the pillow has a nice zipper and I was able to remove 4 cups of hulls and that seemed to work well for me. I’ve desperately been looking for a pillow that will help me stay cool at night as I go through the life stages of menopause. I’ve purchased very high end pillow cases and pillows claiming to help you stay cool, to no avail. I found this pillow on Amazon, read the reviews and thought well I’ve come this far why not try something different. I’ve slept on it for a few nights, figured out how to get the right “squish” and it’s FANTASTIC! No sweaty head and wet hair! Say HELLO to HULLO! It’s worth every penny! I have tried several pillows over the last few years – all with mixed results. My head and neck get quite warm when sleeping and regular pillows trap heat exceptionally well, unfortunately. I’ve tried cooling pillows, but those only work so long. Heard about Hullo pillow on a podcast for several weeks in a row, so did a little investigating and eventually bought the small one – hoping to keep from having to share with my cats (they just ended up either pushing my head off most of the pillow or sleeping on my face). It seems unsubstantial until you put force on it, then it becomes quite firm, which I rather liked. Molds very easily to shape of your head or face. Does get a little bit warm and retains some heat, but not enough to make it necessary to flip the pillow halfway through the night. It is rather comfortable to sleep on, though on occasion I do wake up with neck pain, so I’m debating taking some of the hulls out to see if that eliminates that as the pillow can feel a little raised.
My husband “borrowed” my pillow for a nap the other day and now is threatening to steal mine or buy his own.

I was very excited to receive my standard Hullo pillow. The first thing I noticed is that it feels under filled. To fully support my neck and head, I have to move all the hulls to one side, leaving the other side barely filled. As soon as I put my head down, the hulls shift and the pillow goes flat. I haven’t found the hulls to maintain their position at all. Maybe it was supposed to come with more hulls? After sleeping on this pillow for a few nights, my neck was extremely sore and I couldn’t even turn my head or lift my arms. I stopped using it completely after a week because the pain just kept getting worse but never got around to returning it. Save your money.
I love my Hullo pillow. It was a rather expensive but well purchased pillow, worth its weight in gold. I have been having severe neck and shoulder pain. It was so bad that I was actually screaming. My neck is degenerative, and I had a huge knot across my shoulders. My doctor ended up putting me on muscle relaxers. I knew I needed more neck support for when I slept. I have looked at so many different pillows online trying to figure out the one that I thought would suit my needs. I have several friends that have tried buckwheat pillows but did not care for them. What my friends didn’t tell me or couldn’t tell me which which buckwheat pillow they tried. One of my friends claimed about how noisy it was. After reading all the reviews and taking weeks and maybe a number of months, I decided to break down and get the Hullo pillow It was the best pillow purchase I have ever made. The first thing I did when I got it, was listen for the noise that my friends had complained about. This pillow had minimal noise. There’s no smell or odor. The casement for the buckwheat is superb. When I got my buckwheat pillow i opened it up because I wanted to actually feel buckwheat. It really surprised me because it is so soft. When I finally laid down on it it was like instant relief and support for my neck. The first night I slept on it my body did not move at all. Between my Hullo pillow and my weighted blanket, I have the best sleep experience. I also have Tourette’s syndrome, so this has been the a huge help. TS has caused much of my neck problems. I’ve been sleeping on a buckwheat pillow for 10+years. This one is the best I’ve found. Casing is durable. Nice that the hulls are washed. Allergies much reduced over cheaper buckwheat pillows I’ve had in past. Love the zipper for adjusting fill or for washing. I’m a side sleeper & this pillow had the right amount of fill right out of box. Keeps my neck pain away. If you are new to buckwheat, the pillow does make noise when adjusting during night. Has never bothered my partner & doesn’t wake me. Definitely recommend the Hullo pillow!

I have had chronic neck pain for years and have been on the search for a supportive pillow for my neck and shoulders for about a year now. I put in probably 2 months using this pillow. I used it for about a month and when I continuously was waking up all night and in the morning with neck pain, I thought it was because I needed it to be firmer because throughout the night the hulls would move around so my neck wouldnt be supported. So I bought more hulls from the site. I added a decent amount to make it firm but it I was still waking up in pain. I had to switch to an old pillow actually because it was putting my neck and shoulders in worse pain than before. So I’m still on the search! I really wanted to love this pillow and raved about it before getting it. Even though it didn’t work out for me the quality of this pillow is amazing and would recommend it to a friend who may not have serious neck pain like me. On to the next!

It took me a couple of weeks to get used to using the Hullo Buckwheat pillow. I bought the half-sized one. After two herniated discs in my life, sleeping improperly can be downright dangerous! While it took me some time to get used to sleeping on the pillow, I haven’t woken up with a sore neck since I started using it! I wish I had splurged on the full sized pillow though. Not a natural back-sleeper, when I sleep on my back I like to have my arms over my head, and this pillow is too small to allow that. For side sleeping though, it is wonderful! I’m extremely possessive of it, and I’ll definitely be taking it camping with me this summer!

I can not get enough of this pillow! I was interested in getting one after going through a few days of a bad neck cramp (caused by sleeping poorly on a standard pillow.)
