I had been dealing with neck pain every morning for about a year and was thinking I may need to find a new pillow. We purchased one from our daughter who did not like it. We loved it and ordered a second one. It’s probably not for everyone but we sleep so good. You should like a firm mattress/pillow in order for you to love it. No more neck/ shoulder pain.

The First night I used my pillow I noticed a huge difference. Before my hullo pillow I was waking up with horrible head, neck, and shoulder pain. No more! With my hullo pillow I am able to adjust it to how high or low I want it. It is soft but firm as well. The noise of the pillow does not bother me at all. In fact I find it rather comforting. The one downside I can think of with this pillow is that it is a bit heavy, but that is it! For people who are side sleepers, back sleepers and stomach sleepers I highly recommend!

My husband and I have been using our Hullo pillows for about 9 years. We just bought more bulk buckwheat hulls to freshen up one of our pillows. These are the greatest pillows on the planet and I have tried them all. Totally worth the money for a good pain free night’s sleep. I will not use another pillow or another brand. I suffered from awful neck pain for years due to a terrible pillows. From the first night after I started using a Hullo pillow, my pain has been gone. I really can’t overstate how this has improved my quality of life. I used to spend all day in pain, rubbing my neck and shoulders, rotating my whole body instead of turning my neck, and wincing whenever I moved my head quickly. All solved now. It takes a few nights to get used to it, and I needed to reduce the amount of hulls slightly to be a little more comfortable, but overall it is worth EVERY PENNY.

I got a buckwheat pillow for me and my partner. The pillow didn’t kill their snoring entirely, but snoring is down 90% at least. The sound has gone from a drowning water buffalo to the rumble of a old car in far in the distance. I can tune it out and sleep. For me, I don’t wake up with neck pain anymore, and I only have to sleep on one pillow. As an added bonus, my pillow is now so heavy that my kid can’t steal it off the bed for pillow forts.
It took a little getting used to, and the pillow had a faint smell at first, but as someone who gets migraines from strong smells I can attest that it wasn’t strong and didn’t smell bad. To me, it smelled like black tea, almost. I never in a million years would have thought that sleeping on what is essentially a sack of grain would improve my sleep so much, but it absolutely has.
You should absolutely get one, as long as you don’t intend to use it for pillow fights.

This is a a firm pillow that takes a few days to get used to. When it first arrived I was surprised by how heavy it was. It was also very firm to the point where I thought that there was no way I would like it. In the box is a paper that tells you how to use it (weird, it’s a pillow, I’ve been using a pillow my whole life). The card was right, fluff it up, lay your head on it, give it a few days to get used to it, definitely don’t use it with another pillow. This is a great pillow, but you need to give it a chance. I use to wake up with headaches or neck pain, especially if I used more than one pillow to try to get some support. In the few months I have had the Hullo, I have not woken up with pain, and I have slept great. Also, it stays cool. You don’t have to flip the pillow in the night. Buy one, try it, you’ll probably love it.

Pillow is VERY firm. Given the volume of hulls, initial shape was too large and stiff. Even with content/fill adjustment, end result was the worst neck pain I’ve ever experienced. Stopped using after 1 month and multiple adjustments. Went back to C shaped gel/foam type pillow.
I love this pillow. I was initially very hesitant because of the cost. I have been trying to find a pillow that will work for me for years. I am a side sleeper. Recently, I took up rock climbing which caused my upper body and neck to be sore frequently. This made a good night sleep for recovery imperative. My regular pillow was just not cutting it anymore. I was waking up in the morning with horrible neck and shoulder pain that was resulting in headaches. As soon as I switched to the Hullo pillow the pain subsided. It was a little different the first few nights, but I adjusted quickly. I have since tried my husband’s “regular” pillow and cannot stand it anymore. The Hullo conforms to my head and then supports my neck throughout the night. The “regular” pillow just goes flat and my neck is left sore. Very much worth the price. It is high quality and I forsee it lasting me a long time. Some people comment they do not like the smell. I actually find it quite pleasent. I would highly recommend this pillow.

I replaced a +25 year old buckwheat pillow (not a Hullo) that had become rather flat. The new Hullo is larger and nicely full. I have tried many different pillows over the years and find the buckwheat pillows provide the right amount of adjustability whether side or back sleeping. Other pillows have left me with a sore neck or back and frequent waking to adjust the pillow. With the Hullo I can create a hollow for my head with the right amount of support under my neck to avoid the previous painful mornings. Love it!

I’m very happy with my pillow! I no longer have to wake up if I want to change sleeping positions and find my other pillow to adjust from back sleeping to side sleeping. I just fluff my hullo and go right back to sleep.
I feel like I get more sleep now, and my shoulders, back, and neck don’t feel sore in the morning.

I have heard about buckwheat pillows for years but had never tried one until now. Last night was the 4th night of sleeping with my new Hullo Buckwheat pillow. I really like it. It takes a little getting used to, but I know I’m falling asleep faster, tossing and turning much less, sleeping better, and I’m not waking up with the usual pain in my neck that I’ve had for a long time, so I think I’ve found my pillow for life. I can’t say that it is significantly cooler to sleep on than other so-called “cooling” pillows I’ve tried, but with the right pillow case on it it’s not as hot as some others I’ve tried. I removed some of the buckwheat hulls from it so that it isn’t quite as full as it was when it arrived and I think that made it even better.

The product gets 5 stars for meeting expectations. The pillow is exactly as explained. I have cervical stenosis and arthritis and nothing will remove the discomfort. Still, the texture from the hulls places my head at a perfect height to let me sleep comfortably on my back. I tend to sleep on my side, and so the edges provide less support than I want, or need. When I turn, I wonder if the crunchy sound might wake my spouse—he says it does not. And if I’m sound asleep, it doesn’t bother me either. I also think the hulls allow a definite cooling, which is great. I miss the softness of hypoallergenic polyester, but not the plastic, and certainly not the head-in-a-hole feeling. The Hullo pillow does what it says. And the smell is very very very faint and pleasant.

After switching to a Hullo pillow earlier this year, I can’t imagine ever going back to a feather pillow again. I’m no longer woken up with a sore shoulder or having to get out of bed in the morning with a stiff neck. The filling makes these pillows super adjustable. It took a couple nights to get used to it but now my partner and I love these!

I got a recommendation from a patient for this pillow, but after the first night, it caused extreme head, neck, and shoulder pain! It was as hard as a rock. And it was also very loud every time you move to change positions to try to get comfortable with it. It is definitely not the pillow for us to sell to our patients when it causes extreme pain. The return policy is very misleading since the company gives you 60 days to return the pillow for a full refund, but when you ask to return the pillow they email you and ask you not to because of the impact on the environment. The pillow and the box weigh almost 15 lbs which will cost over $50 to ship back, and I will pay that to get the remaining refund. Companies that are misleading in the verbiage on their websites, or do not disclose that they do not pay for shipping on a return, and just leave out the information that your refund is minus your return shipping costs, is not a company my healthcare facility will do business with. The Hullo website on returns is misleading.

I was admittedly very skeptical about the Hullo pillow and didn’t even throw away the box, thinking I’d return it. I kid you not, after night one, I woke out without any neck/jaw pain for the first time in YEARS. I was absolutely shocked and cannot say enough good things about the pillow. I ended up buying a second for my mom and she loves hers, too.

Skeptical at first. All of my life I have preferred super soft goose downy pillows. I ended up with a Hulo pillow and did not think I would like it at all. It seemed way to firm and noisy for my pillow tastes. I threw it on my bed with the rest of my tried and true super soft pillows. I figured that it might act as a foundation. Slowly but surely I ended up pushing the old pillows aside for the Hulo pillow. Much to my surprise, I now prefer the buckwheat hulls over goose down. Although firmer, the hullo pillow has just the right amount of give while supporting my head and neck positions. Gone are the sore necks, kinks and pinched nerves. Thanks Hullo for a great product!!!
