I like many tried a bunch of memory foam pillows only to wake up with neck pain and a headache almost every day. This pillow saved my sleep. I’ve tried them all… cheap, expensive, down feather, synthetic, foam, etc. Even went so far as to spend $250 on a high end memory foam with two-sided gel… none did the trick.
This pillow has it all. It stays cool (a huge factor for me) and maintains its hold/shape. At first it was a little under-filled for me so I requested a little more fill and they provided it to me – and now it’s perfect.

Fluffs easily. Supports my head well. Neither hot or cold. Adjustable since you can easily add or remove the filling. Although noisier than other pillows, doesn’t seem noisy at all.

I usually wake up several times a night but have slept sound all night since I started sleeping on this pillow. I like it because it’s “adjustable”. I have cervical dystonia and need support on my neck when I sleep on my side. The pillow is firm, but very comfortable. I recommend 100%.

I ordered a buckwheat pillow per the request of a practitioner who was helping me with some back and neck injuries. While I place a high value on good sleep products, I was skeptical about the value of this option. (I was already donning a very comfortable latex pillow.)
The initial experience was based mainly on intrigue. I found the idea of the pillow interesting and, while the noise generated when shifting and adjusting was a bit bothersome, it didn’t deter me from continuing to explore the pillow’s potential.
The Hullo pillow quickly grew on me. I realized that it could help shape to any need I had and for any position I found myself wanting to lay in. I was no longer finding myself sticking a hand under my head or using my arms for additional pillow support. And as I shifted in the night it shifted to meet my needs.
I now recommend it to anyone who talks to me about pillows. It’s expensive and that is a deterrent for many, but I also like that it’s mainly plastic-free in its materials (aside from the shipping packaging which I think they should consider changing for the sake of being completely plastic-free).

One night I fell asleep with a headache and a bit of a fever. About three hours into my sleep, I woke up with nightmarish pain and both my head and my expensive memory foam pillow (with Cooling Technology! ™) were practically on fire. After spending an hour trying to get comfortable, I ended up spending the rest of the night looking up pillows.
I just wanted one that keeps cool and supports my head. That’s it. That was also apparently an impossible request, until I saw a customer review on a memory foam pillow recommend Hullo Buckwheat pillows. I was desperate, so I read some reviews and caved.
The reviews you see online are correct. These pillows ARE weird. The buckwheat husks are not like beans, they are tiny jagged nuggets that I convinced my 5 year old daughter are spiders. They come in a pillow shaped sack that requires a pillow case unless you prefer to sleep on burlap. Looking at it, you would never expect it to be as wonderful as it is.
Just to be clear, I do not lay on this pillow and say “awwww”. Actually, I don’t really notice it at all… and that is what I love about it! I don’t wake up in the middle of the night with a hot head and strained neck. I don’t even think about my pillow anymore! And that is the best experience money can buy.

I’ve gone through so many pillows in the past–many of them extremely expensive. Hullo is BY FAR the best pillow I’ve ever tried. My fiancee tried it–and made me buy one just for her!
The pillows are very comfortable, breathable, natural, and allow you to mold them into whatever shape you prefer. Want to sit up? They mold perfectly. Want to lay down? They will cradle your head and neck just perfectly.

I switched out my regular pillow with the Hullo and I like it- provides good neck support. I’m usually having to invest in a new polyfiber one every 2 months or so, but this one lasts because the the individual buckwheat hulls will never clump. It’s natural so I think my environmental footprint is a bit better too.

I have other buckwheat hull pillows (because I’ve had neck trouble for decades), but this one is the best made and definitely the most versatile: good for back support if sitting up in bed, wonderful for sleeping in any posture, and nice to lay an arm across while reading in bed. I sometimes have to adjust the hulls for proper support as I change sleep positions, but it only takes a second.
I would recommend this for anyone with cervical issues like mine. The nice even temperature is a big plus too.

I love my Hullo pillow. It’s a quality product with great comfort and adjustability. My goal was to find a pillow that would allow me to sleep with a lower head position while still providing maximum support. The small size pillow (minus two cups of hulls) was the perfect solution! Now I get a wonderful night’s rest and experience even blood flow throughout my body. I highly recommend this pillow for people dealing with hypertension. For me, the Hullo pillow actually has therapeutic value. It is my go to pillow from now on. Yes, it’s buckwheat sweet!

I have huge shoulders and sleep on my side. I’ve been riddled with neck and neck pain my whole life. And I’m fit! So my arches and pains don’t come from just lack of taking care of myself.
It took me a week to get used to, but I can’t imagine ever going back. Having amazing support no matter what side I roll to, every night, is just such a luxury. I know it’s $100. I know it’s a first world thing. But if you can’t sleep and the 1/3 of the time is screwing with with the other 2/3…it’s worth it.

I have bought all natural buckwheat hull filled pillows before, and that converted me to using them, since they were natural, breathable, and provided great support for the neck while sleeping (in keeping with God’s design of the human neck-this offers ideal support I’ve found)! When I needed another buckwheat hull filled pillow, I looked into and decided to try Hullo pillow, I could not be more satisfied with this pillow! A nice soft, durable organic cotton cover over all natural buckwheat hulls! And, there was NO odors at all of the pillow! That’s the best thing to top it off! I recommend these pillows! I LOVE my Hullos. We have four, and I just ordered two more king sized pillows. I am 7 months pregnant and I have a 3 year old and 1 year old. At the end of the day, I can’t wait to crawl into bed with my Hullos.
They also make great reading pillows, I prop them up when I am reading in bed and they offer a very comfortable and supportive backrest.
I highly recommend molding them prior to sleeping on them.
When I was looking for a buckwheat pillow, I was getting frustrated because the buckwheat pillows I was finding were made in China and not organic. I love that these are made in the USA, organic, and extremely clean (dust free).

I am obsessed with my Hullos. When I am at home, I cannot sleep comfortably unless I have them. I definitely miss them when I traveling, and I am going to purchase a small pillow for traveling. I use them as back support and as a pillow to hug while I am sleeping. I love that they are moldable so I can customize the support of my back and neck.
I have two young children, so by the end of the day my back is aching from bending down and picking babies and toys up all day. They take some getting used to, and they are more expensive than some pillows, but well worth it. Plus I love that they are organic and stay very clean/dust-free.

When the pillow arrived it was too full to use, so I took out 8 cups and that ended up still a little too full for me so I took out another 8 cups and while that may have been a little too much it works for me. I learned a long time ago that I didn’t really need a pillow until I switched to a waterbed. Then I started using a buckwheat hull pillow that was not adjustable. Still I found that what I needed was support under my neck. That pillow died and I got the Hullo as a replacement. Now with it as light as it is I can jam the whole thing under my neck and get the support I need. The buckwheat pillow is always cool when the night is it’s hottest and a relief to feel in those conditions.
Washing the pillow (minus the buckwheat) is something I haven’t tried yet though I’m curious to see the results. Being able to change the size to suit my needs is the feature that sold me on the Hullo and I don’t regret it.

Ever since I got this pillow (smallest size), I sleep super well.
It stabilizes my head at a supportive level so that it’s set to stay there for 8 hours as I sleep.
I loved it so much, I considered getting a buckwheat hull bed… and then I did.
I also got my sister one for her birthday and she’s pretty happy with it.
It feels pretty good about sleeping on something that’s made in the USA, doesn’t pollute a ton in its creation, and won’t pollute when I’m done with it.
