Wonderful
I bought this for my son. He loves it. It’s very comfy after you get used to it He wants another. He did say it was small and I bought him a standard size.

Hullo pillows are quality construction! Well filled, thick cotton covers and cool to sleep with. Quality, is key word regarding Hullo pillows. Thank you!

This pillow usually provides all the support for my neck that I need. As time goes on I think about adding more hulls, though. On occasion, the pillow is too hard for me and I accept the lack of support in a softer pillow instead. Except for when I have a headache, this pillow is the best of both worlds. I never did expect a pillow to be so loud though!

The pillow wasn’t for me. After trying it out for over a month and waking up with a headache every day I gave up on the pillow. But hey, that’s how they market the pillow. You may like it, you may not.
What’s more annoying is the fact that they sell this “60-day risk free trial period” and yet, to initiate a return you have to email the company only to have them try to guilt you into keeping the pillow due to environmental harm. “Hullos returned to us can not be resold. Despite our best efforts, the return process is harmful to the environment. Please consider giving your pillow to a friend, relative or pet to prevent waste.” Not to mention if you do choose to send it back, it will cost about $30 in shipping.
Just some things for you to consider before spending $90+ on a pillow.
From Hullo: We do our best to balance customer service and our environmental footprint and try to be as transparent as possible about our return policy. Shipping should not cost $30, unless you’re using a highly marked-up vendor to return your pillow.
As other reviewers have stated, my pillow felt hard when I first started using it, but after getting the proper amount of fill correct I can adjust it “on the fly” while I sleep and enjoy it very much.
Hullo is a fine company with a great product and “more” than fair policies. A refreshing change from most of todays marketing hoopla!
Keep up the good work and great service.

Both my husband and I are instantly in love! We are people that use totally different kinds of pillows too – I’ve always been a thin or feather girl he likes his more bulky and supportive but after one sleep we both fell in love with this pillow!

I really had high hopes for it as the Hullo pillow was recommended by a friend. but every time I turn my head, there’s loud crunchy sounds.
Pros:
Cons:
If I had read that page first and known that the refund would be minus the return shipping cost, I would have purchased a buckwheat pillow from another company that had a more favorable return policy. I would have appreciated the return/refund policy being clearer, but I suppose that is my fault for not reading the 60 night trial page prior to purchasing.
TLDR:
It is exactly as advertised and feels like sleeping on a pile of sand or a beanbag, as others have mentioned. For $90+, consider putting your head on a beanbag or sandbag for a few nights and see if you like how that feels before purchasing. Be sure you read the entirety of the 60 night trial page so you are aware of the terms.
We purchased one from our daughter who did not like it. We loved it and ordered a second one. It’s probably not for everyone but we sleep so good. You should like a firm mattress/pillow in order for you to love it. No more neck/ shoulder pain.

The First night I used my pillow I noticed a huge difference. Before my hullo pillow I was waking up with horrible head, neck, and shoulder pain. No more! With my hullo pillow I am able to adjust it to how high or low I want it. It is soft but firm as well. The noise of the pillow does not bother me at all. In fact I find it rather comforting. The one downside I can think of with this pillow is that it is a bit heavy, but that is it! For people who are side sleepers, back sleepers and stomach sleepers I highly recommend!

After a few months of using my Hullo it is pretty flat. Not like the pillow you show in your ads. It’s not terribly uncomfortable but it is pretty flat. Have not tried looking for another pillow, yet.
I needed more fill and Hullo sent me a bit more at no cost. Terrific!

My husband and I have been using our Hullo pillows for about 9 years. We just bought more bulk buckwheat hulls to freshen up one of our pillows. These are the greatest pillows on the planet and I have tried them all. Totally worth the money for a good pain free night’s sleep. I will not use another pillow or another brand. Customers for life!!

First, good on Hullo for giving me plenty of time to try the pillow before asking for a review!
That said: this pillow really is great. I don’t think there will ever be a magical, perfect pillow. But this is probably about as close as we’ll get. It’s so, so comfortable, and the coolness of it is actually mind boggling.
Even if you move around while you sleep, that motion only makes so much noise, and I think subconsciously your brain expects that, so it is never jarring. If you are like my mother and buy pillows with silence being her number one concern, this isn’t for you, but for us normal people (haha) it is worth the money!

Like most of the reviews tell you it takes a day or two to get used to it. It’s different but that is what makes them great. Less neck/back pain. Better deeper sleep.

I haven’t woken up to a hot pillow in months now. I think I’d prefer a few more hulls in my pillow. It’s very firm which I absolutely love but it could be more firm for me. The pillow could be considered to be noisy by some when moving around. It doesn’t bother me and once I’m asleep I don’t notice it. It’s a very heavy pillow which has its benefits. My pillow doesn’t move around while I sleep now.
I would definitely recommend a Hullo for anyone who likes a firm pillow. Unless you’re an ultra light sleeper you won’t be disappointed. Like I said in the beginning,
No More Hot Pillows!!!

Hullo pillow has been a great change vs foam. Has improved my sleeping positions.

I love this pillow. It’s made a huge difference in my quality of sleep and in my neck pain. I love how adjustable it is. I removed a decent amount of the hulls to make it fit exactly how I needed it to. I will never use another pillow. High quality and wonderful results!

After removing 10 or 12 cups of hulls and giving it a little time to get used to the swishing noise when you manipulate the pillow, I find it very comfortable.
It has made my transition to tolerating CPAP easier as the pillow is extremely moldable, yet supportive and doesn’t contribute to mask leaks or it being pulled off.

I love how cool and supportive Hullo is. I am now a person who travels with their pillow, sleeping on anything else just doesn’t cut it anymore.

I suffered from awful neck pain for years due to a terrible pillows. From the first night after I started using a Hullo pillow, my pain has been gone. I really can’t overstate how this has improved my quality of life. I used to spend all day in pain, rubbing my neck and shoulders, rotating my whole body instead of turning my neck, and wincing whenever I moved my head quickly. All solved now. It takes a few nights to get used to it, and I needed to reduce the amount of hulls slightly to be a little more comfortable, but overall it is worth EVERY PENNY.

As a side-sleeper, I woke up several times per night to adjust my pillow (flip it over, switch it with another, etc). Now I just sleep…

I got a buckwheat pillow for me and my partner. The pillow didn’t kill their snoring entirely, but snoring is down 90% at least. The sound has gone from a drowning water buffalo to the rumble of a old car in far in the distance. I can tune it out and sleep. For me, I don’t wake up with neck pain anymore, and I only have to sleep on one pillow. As an added bonus, my pillow is now so heavy that my kid can’t steal it off the bed for pillow forts.
It took a little getting used to, and the pillow had a faint smell at first, but as someone who gets migraines from strong smells I can attest that it wasn’t strong and didn’t smell bad. To me, it smelled like black tea, almost. I never in a million years would have thought that sleeping on what is essentially a sack of grain would improve my sleep so much, but it absolutely has.
You should absolutely get one, as long as you don’t intend to use it for pillow fights.

It’s hard and it hurts.
